Ladies and gentleman…please be seated and fasten your seat belts as we will soon begin our descent to Paris Charles De Gaulle Airport. Usually this announcement is annoying as we always wake up between our sweet nap flying Mumbai to Delhi.
Not when you are landing in Paris.
It took a while to get a glimpse of the Eiffel tower from the skies but we didn’t miss it…A mist of clouds over the city was blinding the tip of the tower but the view was awesome.
My first words to the city were Salut Magnifique (Hello Beautiful)!
We landed at 7 pm and we were on our way to Aarty Paris Hostel with no clue that it was a 3 hour journey from Paris CDG Airport. But the metro ride through the city was actually fun and full of graffiti walls, tramways, french architecture and above all, Love was in the Air.
Aarty Paris is a student’s hostel very close to the city centre and the Eiffel Tower. By the time we reached it was 10:30pm and time for sunset. In most of the European countries sunsets during this season are around 11 pm.
The idea of long days seem boring in theory but in a beautiful city like Paris it doesn’t really matter. Our private room in the hostel was relatively small but very cozy with bunk beds and beautiful interiors. We quickly changed and were ready to hit the city center – Montparnasse.
Walking down the streets of Montparnasse, while hunting for a vegetarian restaurant, we came across a Blue Bumblebee (Chevy Camaro) parked at the Chevrolet Garage and gosh it was simply hot!
And finally we spotted by Pizza Pino. One of best Italian eatery in Paris served a huge pizza with multiple layers of delicious cheese and for the first time we had Eggplant in a Pizza. It wasn’t that bad though.
By the time we finished dinner it was 1:30 and it started drizzling with super chilly winds. Took a taxi back to the hotel.
Having a flight to catch from Paris Beauvais Airport we didn’t have much time the next day. It is a 2 hour drive from Port De Maillot which is again almost 2 hours travel from city center. So we decided to pay a quick visit to the Eiffel tower.
It was quite a cloudy day.
The idea was to have coffee at a street side bar overlooking the Eiffel tower, was so honeymoon. The romance was on high spirits and the city was making us feel loved.
We spotted some fresh Italian bread too, but we settled for our customized McDonalds Veggie order.
