We were at Hyatt Regency, Pune and had a chance to experience their spa facilities.
One of the key features of a hotel, especially business hotels, is the Spa facility. Frequent travelers are bound to get drained both physically and mentally following a hectic traveling and work schedule.
A good Spa treatment rejuvenates your body to get you back to the busy routine world.
Body massages are now paraphrased to ‘Spa’ by detailed research into different Ayurveda products which definitely are more effective in Spa treatments.
Hyatt Regency, being one of the most opulent properties in Pune hosts the “Arogya Spa”.
The facility is on the first floor adjacent and connected to the fitness area which includes the Gym, Yoga and Dance Studio and an indoor temperature controlled swimming pool (one and only in Pune).
The indoor pool is perfect for a swim in winters.
They also have steam and sauna along with a whirlpool which is common to the Spa and Gym.
The Arogya Spa is well equipped and spread over 650 sqft of area including 6 individual therapy rooms with 2 couple suites(and ideal choice for a romantic Spa with your beloved). Earthy decor is integral to almost all spas but the ceramic oil diffusers with scented candles add to the aroma and tranquility of the facility.
They also have a room for Shirodhara Therapy, a very famous Ayurvedic Spa which involves gently pouring liquid on the forehead through a wooden dispenser.
Shirodhara is definitely one of the most relaxing Spa treatments with an ancient history of its usage and benefits.
The menu of Arogya Spa offers an extensive range of Ayurvedic and Swedish Spa treatments including full body massages, body wrap & scrub therapy and ayurvedic facials.
Some treatments are done using June Jacobs products.
We got the couples therapy room and the Spa consultant advised different treatments for me and Apeksha. Men usually prefer deep massages and women go for gentle relaxing therapies.
They have two couple Spa Suites, one without any natural light and the other has double layered tinted curtains to choose from the amount of sunlight you feel comfortable in.
So it was ‘Samartha’ for me and ‘Rasa’ for Apeksha. Choose the most appropriate therapy for yourself from their menu here.
Rasa: This stress busting massage begins with gentle thumb strokes on tired and sore muscles with a blend of fragrant signature oils. Each muscle section is massaged and stretched, gently easing knotted nerves, and restoring the energy flow.
Samartha: This deep muscular massage lifts your spirits and revives your senses. A special blend of oils releases trapped nerves, and restores the balance and flow of energy in your body. Every joint, muscle and sinew will pulse with new vigor.
The Spa Includes:
1) A soothing green apple + mint + cucumber cooler drink
2) Gentle foot massage
3) Full Body Massage with non-sticky Ayurvedic essential oils
4) Hot Water Shower post bath
5) Chinese Green Tea with Honey
Both Samartha and Rasa were 60 minute treatments with pure indulgence into tranquility. The vessel full of flowers under the headrest, beige interiors of couples room (in fact the whole Spa), scented candles and calming music worked holistically to tune all the senses to peace.
The ayurvedic hot oil was magical the moment it touched skin. The massage began from the toes and ankle gradually moved up to legs and thighs.
I chose lower back as my key focus area and was indeed taken care very well by the therapist. After a 4 hour long drive, the deep sensational back massage relaxed the stiff muscles back to normal.
Post treatment we had a nice and long hot water bath in the in room shower area. The shower session was quite romantic indeed 🙂
And then we were served some Chinese green tea with honey and we clicked away, fully relaxed, rejuvenated and happy.
