A dining table set under the sky and by the pool side on the terrace is a perfect recipe for a dinner date.
Well am I talking about a place we have been to. Indeed Yes!

During our stay at Le Meridien Pune earlier in this monsoon season, we were invited for dinner at their signature Indian cuisine restaurant ‘Chingaari’. Following the traditional theme of the hotel, Chingaari adds to the taste bud experience as well.
Head Chef Gulam Qureshi was kind enough to share his journey with Le Meridien and serve us his best preparations which he is quite famous for in town. We also learned that he belongs to the well known Qureshi family from Lucknow and is the younger sibling of star Chef Imtiaz Qureshi.
We felt blessed to learn that he had been preparing for our visit since noon and had some mouth watering recipes coming soon. And between talks the food arrived in style.
We started with ‘Moong Dal Bhari Tikki’ which had a super crispy layer of finely grated sabudana.
Next arrived one of the highlight dish of the evening ‘Aatish Prawns’.
The tiger prawns had a blast of flavors and very aptly named ‘Aatish’ (Fireworks).
Completing the delicious list of starters was ‘Galauti Kebab’ a Chef Special and a very popular Mutton preparation.
We ensured the starters did not fill us to the brim and were eagerly waiting for the main course to arrive, especially for the Chef special ‘Raan’ (Indian roast leg of Lamb).
Meanwhile we couldn’t resist clicking the beautiful ambiance and setup.
The highlight of the evening and served with much love, Raan was presented to us by the chef!
It sat there, staring at us and we could hardly look away. It is a royal delicacy and its best not to judge this dish. So finely roasted, it steals your heart away.
Alongside came the Pompret, my favourite fish.
There is something about rooftop restaurants that adds to the zing and romance. And if the cuisine is Indian it adds to the magic.
