Just recently, we were spending a romantic monsoon weekend at Le Meridien, Pune,
the oldest hotel of the city and most importantly, very Indian in nature.
While entering the hotel, I could not help notice the impeccable Palace design which welcomes you at the exterior building and stays with you through every element within the hotel. You will easily feel like a king or a queen while you are at the hotel.
The hospitality was indeed very warm.
We were served chilled Iced Tea on arrival and taken to our suite Clemantis on the 5th floor.
The 5th and 7th floor of the building gives you direct access to the hotel club.
The room of Clemantis was out of a vintage storybook.
The suite pulled off a classic Indian vintage style.
In-room dining was a fast service. The food arrived within half and hour while we refreshed ourselves in the king washroom.
You can actually walk through the bathtub area and the bath area designed to create a gallery space.
We ordered a chicken biryani, mixed veggie pizza, strawberry milkshake and orange juice.
We feel the pizzas are best had at Favola, the Italian restaurant of the hotel – served fresh oven fire pizzas.
After resting for a while and entertaining ourselves with huge LCD screens in the suite, we headed to the coffee shop in the lobby. Le Meridien Pune has recently started Eclair, their international programme.
Through Le Meridien’s unique culinary collaboration, Chef Iuzzini created eight signature eclair recipes exclusively for Le Meridien hotels & Resorts.
These eclairs are destination inspired. The hotel features seasonal flavours like Mango eclair, coffee eclair, strawberry eclair etc.
We were drooling on our way to the coffee shop.
It goes perfectly well with coffee.
We were already having out own little evening party.
Ask for Eclairs the next time you are here.
After walking around a little and gasping over the brilliant decor inspired from the regions of India, we decided to click away.
We could hardly resist any aesthetic beauty that came our way!
We walked around a little more, only to be charmed by the fantastic collection of antics and the decor.
Candles are lit every evening at the entrance to build a calm and serene atmosphere.
We experienced the Le Meridien Sparkling Aperitif Beverage Program at the Entresol Bar too later that evening.
And then we put this on our door and snored the night away.
