Our first bright morning on our Euro Trip this year started with Rudesheim in Frankfurt.
We took a train from the central train station – Hauptbahnof to get there in an hour.
Rudesheim is known to be a compact version of Germany.
Wine yards and tasting, cable cars, a little shopping made our day trip fantastic.
Wide landscapes are so photo friendly.
While we walked up to see the war statue, along came the merry cable cars with magnificent view,
and the downhill swings was an exhilarating experience.
While swinging along, we found deer to feed.
What pretty deer.
Not very far away, we spotted the statue. It looked like Germany’s own statue of liberty.
Keep yourself hydrated by carrying a water bottle along for a long uphill walk.
But you will agree that the scenic background is worth the climb.
After a long walk and a climb, we hopped on to a ferry to cross the river.
And then I spotted the castle of my dreams
Of course the excursion had to end with food.
The streets are full of European alfresco cafe’s, resto bars and food vendors.
We chose to binge on Doner kebabs and tried Erdinger Beer,
finishing our meal with Apple Pie.
With an hour in hand before taking the train back to Frankfurt we stepped into the wine shop and tasted pure German wine.
The shop owner was so cheerful, we might have tasted too much wine.
We bought sweet wine with our names engraved on it.
The day trip extended to a little evening party.
We were off back to Frankfurt.
