While planning our itinerary to Greece, since we were flying a long way from Frankfurt,
we decided to break the journey and spend two days in Venice – The City of Love!
Fluffy clouds from up above.
A little glimpse of mountains.
and lots of snow.
We were staying closer to the airport, since our time was limited.
But to enjoy Venice, stay on the mainland.
And rise to the sunrise and golden waters of the canal everyday.
Venice is built on a lagoon with pure marble structures and brings out the passion of Italians behind the artwork and architecture.
The Venetian canal is beauty in itself with Gondolas and ferry boats cruising under the overhead passages.
We UN-winded and prettied our self quickly to head to the venetian Rivera.
Though there is lots to see on the small island, the best memory you will come back with is the walk along the canal, hand in hand with your love.
Also, a little romance.
The city turns even more beautiful as dawn approaches and the time between 7 to 8:30 is called the ‘Blue Hour’.
The perfect time to enjoy a stroll by the canal or a water taxi ride.
Best enjoyed with a scoop of Pistachio ice cream.
After wandering around the Grand Central Canal and exploring the ferry options for the next day, we took the last train back to the hotel. We clicked our way throughout the evening romancing to the cupid vibe of the city.
Though the place is full of tourists, you will never feel the rush and crowd as mostly you will find people enjoying together time and romancing.
There is also a Magnum ice cream shop near San Marco bridge.
After sunset, take the watertaxi that crosses the canal.
The lighting and ghostly view is to die for.
We ended our day with Maxi Pizza at Lido’s Fabos Pizza outlet.
We were eager to visit Murano and Burano islands the next day.
