Prague is a land of mystery & history.
We had seen that a day earlier on our vintage tour.
But to see it unfold visually, we chose to go to U Pavouka, the spider medieval tavern for dinner and a historical fantasy show.
The moment we entered the restaurant, we knew it was going to be a great night.
The decor was ancient yet so romantic.
A spread of melting & burning candles lay ahead of us.
And to accompany, a grand table spread of all you could eat.
With free flowing house wine and beer.
The decor amused us throughout the night.
We were seated among spider webs, racks of ancient utensils and stoned walls.
Some glasses later, the performances began to roll.
Ladies and gentlemen, guitars and drums, the only sound that of instruments and the rising cheer of the crowd.
This was total fantasy.
Fire on the rods did some terrific gymnastics.
And we got introduced to the world of characters.
That danced and entertained for the next three hours.
And as onlookers, we even participated in acts.
With snakes on our shoulders and tarot reading.
Dinner was served promptly.
After a round of old Czech pancakes filled with spinach and garlic was served, we got down to cutting roast chicken leg in the company of potato fries.
There was also the unforgettable Kuba pearl barley with mushrooms and garlic.
And beef goulash with bread dumplings.
Ending the massive meal with homemade cakes.
The troop posed with us, before we bid farewell.
