Waking up to winter breeze has become a bit of a habit.
Bumfuzzle may have begun while walking on cobbled streets, with horse carriages crossing by and street cafes lining up. Movie sets are well inspired on your way to Salzburg Castle.
We stopped by Mozart’s residence and filled ourselves with bubble before making the great climb.
The natural corroded grey walls and pieces of ancient Salzburg thrown around the old town can be a serious time travel.
And talking of time travel, castles are for real. Yet they seem to come straight out of storybooks.
We had never been to a castle before so this one was mandatory. Especially because it was really really high, from where the then queens used up a huge area as balconies to get a terrific view of the whole city.

And just as we began dunking in the daylight, the sun began to set and the lights lit up.

It was time for some gluh wein as the temperature dropped further. Hot wine is a hot favourite during Christmas. And there are flavours too.
Ofcourse we had to dine at the Panorama restaurant on top of the castle with the view of the snow clad alps and downing sun.
So we settled for Penne Verdure with Feta cheese.
And Strudel with Rice dipped in Peanut sauce. Highly satisfying.
As we stepped out, the Christmas market at the Salzburg cathedral stared at us.
We made a beeline.
