After breakfast we had the snow day to ourselves.
Just outside our room, the hotel windows overlooked drizzles of snowflake.
Pretty much non-stop.
Familien Haus Feldburg-Falkau could easily pass for a massive private bungalow on three levels.
Just walking along the glass doors painted with snow felt homely.
Snowballs were waiting and though we were stepping out in negative temperatures, there was nothing we had not signed up for.
Since the hotel could only give us access to as much snow, we decided to drive down town and find ourselves a bigger field.
The town of Black Forest is zoned out into mini regions and one of the most popular is the Feldburg region where the ski areas live. There is also Titisee river region and the Todtnau mountains.
We stuck to Feldburg, though we were still 8 kms from the ski areas. If you plan on visiting Black Forest during winters, it is best to pick up a ride at the car rentals. And even though you get free public transportation in the region with Konus card, you might have to tolerate the weather a bit too much.
We recently grabbed the Cullmann Primax 380 tripod for trips like these.
Just set it up and dive into the snow.
We got back while it was still snowing.
Back at the hotel resisting the indoor games is hardly possible.
We played through late evening before the best snooze in a while.
