On a wednesday afternoon, this boutique of a store was chock-a-block with fans from around the world. Large and medium slabs of Gouda, goat, sheep and smoked cheese entertained the visitors.
When we began our little tour, mesmerized with garlic and cumin tastes, the colored ones seemed like candy.
In that moment, you can’t help but feel you have eaten the wrong cheese all your life.
Bang in the city center, you can taste farm specialities like the handmade gouda.
And when you are done with cheese, there is plenty to look around.
They have their own beer and jam.
A few blocks apart, is another crowd friendly store called the Amsterdam Cheese Company.
More gourmet in nature.
With wackier packaging and a fun vibe.
The winning entry separated from the rest.
According to the world cheese making contest, 17 countries agreed that Dutch cheese is the best in the world.
