The last morning in Philippines was spent at El Nido library before heading out for lunch at Entalula island.
Their library is stocked with an insane travel collection and tons of photo heavy literature.
I must have easily spent 2 hours here, buried into history of Filipino islands and their culture.
One of the most vivid lines read – Philippines has between 125-170 languages in use.
The attention quickly shifted to Jimmy Choo book edition 4. It is hard to resist a rare collection.
So captivated by the books in the library, it was a struggle to pull away and check out of the hotel onwards to an island lunch.
With one last chug of refreshing drinks and a wipe of cold towel that smelled every bit intoxicating, we waved to the happy staff playing guitar, the powder sand of El Nido and never ending pampering of our beach villa.
Loaded the boats with luggage, unhooked the anchor and one last dip later, parked at Entalula island for boodle fight.
The island is amidst the thick of Thalang pa grove and primeval forest.
With a bar overlooking the sea.
Which is nothing short of bewitching.
And if you take my advice for a secret beach cocktail – add some rum into that coconut and you get Buko Rum which is a Filipino fantasy drink.
The restaurant on the island is famous for boodle fight which is traditional Filipino cuisine served on banana leaf.
This was probably the best meal on the trip, even more than Miniloc and Lagen.
We started with pork soup.
And a platter of fresh catch.
The fish was exceptionally fresh when combined with conical rice wraps and a sprinkle of soy sauce.
Accompanied with a basket of bread and fresh fruits.
Having found a secluded bench to have lunch with nature and a jungle full of bird sounds, I headed there.
A more than satisfying meal lingered for a while and post lunch walk on the sand felt homely.
But it was time to say goodbye to El Nido Philippines – the Kahuna of hospitality.
We reached the airport, learning an important beach lesson on our way back.
And then flew away from one paradise to inviting city lights back home.
